What is the 1st anime you watched that turned you into an Otaku??

Caught the last 15 min of the Tenchi in love movie on TV. I didn't know the name of it back then but I was hooked. Checking the Sci-fi channel to see if it would ever play again. When I first saw the commercial for it to air on toonami and I recognized the characters!! oh man that was a great day.

Naruto - was definitely my first major anime. Although Avatar the Last Airbender is a close second. As for intro: I'm Keith from the Pennsylvania village hidden in the snow.

Mine is kind of all over the place: I remember first watching a lot of 4kids dubs (The only dub I really enjoy now is probably Yu-Gi-Oh!). However I first got really into anime when I started watching Bionix (Basically Canadian Toonami/Adult Swim Anime) and watched stuff like Naruto, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc. Bionix got taken off the air in 2010 and for a few years I didn't really watch anime. Fast forward to about early last year where I decided to re-watch Naruto and watch One Piece both of which rekindled my interest an anime... Then Cowboy Bebop came and made me a otaku. XD
