Dub vs Sub or both equally good?

Both, Subbed in some cases like SOA (I cant stand kiritos English voice actor). Dubbed if im feeling lazy and don't want to read.

Most of my friends watch anime dubbed so we can relate a little better. Someone that watches the same anime but subbed would say something and we won't exactly catch on as fast. Samething if we dub watchers said something about a scene in an anime and sub watchers won't exactly catch on. It's a different experience.

i like dub cause not all the voices usually sounds the same maybe its just me but evevrytime i watch sub they all feel the same and also some animes just fit better in a english setting to me Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, etc etc as for sub its cause a lot doesnt get dub and hardly any romance gets dub and unlike dub i wouldnt have to wait as long to see it since like seraph of then in sub is like episode 9 now dub is on 3 theres some i prefer subbed over dub like Toradora cause the feels had more of a impact then dub version

Most of the time, I watch anime subbed. However, some voice actors/actresses I can't stand listening to, so I end up watching the dub. Sometimes I happen to accidentally watch the dub first, so I just get used to that.

This is a hard one in all honesty because their are times when the dubs add more comedic value than the subs. Like, uh, Space Dandy and Panty and Stocking. Then their are classics like Cowboy Bebop where the dub is better than the subbed. I enjoy them both, on occasion. But sometimes the dub can be pretty mismatched (I check both subbed and dubbed out to make sure I don't miss anything the other doesn't add).

I watch both. The voice actors create the characters. So for me, I can watch the same anime in sub and dub and sorta get two shows out of one because the characters might be portrayed a little different, if that makes sense. Like most here, there are a list of anime I prefer in one or the other so if I go back to an anime after I've seen them in both once, I will go for the one I enjoyed the most.

IF we're talking strictly from an objective standpoint as far as lip-synching and audio quality goes, I'm a strong believer of it always, ALWAYS, being a case-by-case basis. For example: Rurouni Kenshin is obviously quite good in Japanese, however, upon licensing in the US, several different companies did a sub of it, including the likes of Sony. Ultimately, it was the Media Blasters studio who did the dubbing for English release, despite not sounding fully natural (though it does still sound good). As for Sony's version of the dub? Well...let's just say you'd be better off watching it in Japanese with subs. As for my subjective preferences, there's a lot of variables that'll make me sway one way or the other. One of the variables is whether it'll make sense within the context of the series. For my all-time favorite, Black Lagoon (which already has a spectacular English dub to begin with), it makes more sense for the characters to speak English because that's what the intention originally was. Same for Baccano! (another well-done dub), Cowboy Bebop (one of the best dubs of all time), Hellsing (yup), Fullmetal Alchemist (both series), Trigun, and other series that generally take place outside of Japan or were originally intended to have the characters speaking English anyway (such as with Black Lagoon, Cowboy Bebop, and Licensed by Royalty). Another factor I consider is who the English voice actors are. If the English dub has Johnny Yong Bosch, Steve Blum, Sonny Strait, Greg Ayres, or another notable American VA, then I'm that much more likely to watch a dub. Another also deals with different series within the same universe. I saw Baccano! dubbed, and hence, saw Durarara! dubbed as well since they're technically within the same universe. Both Anime adaptions of FMA I watched dubbed for a similar reason. On the flip side, certain series that have dubs that are well done I've also watched and thoroughly enjoyed even if the context doesn't necessarily make sense for it to be in English: Angel Beats!, Puella Magi Madoka Magica (watched it twice, once subbed and then dubbed, and can honestly say the dub is well done IMHO), Onegai Teacher, HOTD, Azumanga Daioh. I've also seen some not-so-great dubs, Beyblade being one of them (though the theme song is AMAZING) as well as Stoner's character in Eureka 7 (turns out he really wasn't a stoner, go figure). And Initial D's TokyoPop dub before Funimation took over was actually quite bad. But aside from those, I haven't really experienced any truly terrible dubs, barring Sony's Rurouni Kenshin dub. That being said, I've also watched and enjoyed countless anime with Subtitles, and honestly, in general, I can't really say I prefer watching one or the other. I can say certain series I'll watch the dub or sub because I like it more, but in general, I can't really say I prefer one over the other. Madoka, No Game No Life, Kill La Kill, Steins;Gate, even Black Lagoon, I've all seen subbed and enjoyed it. Really, don't worry about which one is "better", just watch whichever one you prefer. If you're too lazy to read subtitles (I am sometimes) or subtitles would be impractical as in the case of FLCL due to its rapid-fire Japanese at parts, then watch the dub. If under certain circumstances (usually applies to Romance series or comedy anime such as Azumanga Daioh, Bakemonogatari, and Gintama) where watching it in something other than Japanese would ruin some of the jokes because of puns or tongue-twisters, than watch it subbed. Really, I can't say one is better than the other, it boils down to what do YOU prefer?
