What is your favorite horror film? I'm asking because I'm interested, though I'm in dire need of a good scare that might've flew under my radar. Any recommendations? Could be foreign too just so long as there's an English sub.
Mine is Dario Argentos "Three Mothers" trilogy; my all time favorite being Suspiria.
Synopsis: Girl goes to Germany to study dance at a prestigious academy, soon finds out that academy is run by a cult of immortal masochistic witches from the 19th century.
I also like "The Strangers" because it's just plain creepy.

I think I recall hearing about this a while back; trailer looks neat, I'll give it a shot.
This is also a semi-recent release from Austriala; 98% on RottenTomatoes. If you are a horrorbuff, you'd do best to check it out. It's pretty psychological, and yet the scares are very tangible. I'd say it's classic material. To me, in fact, it's already worthy to be deemed a classic without even allowing for the passage of time.
I give you: The Babadook!

I wouldn't say it's exactly scary but my favorite is Christopher Lee in Prince of Darkness. But for a more anime film that feels me with terror would be this.............................................

but on a more serious note for anime it would be a tie between Petshop of Horrors and the Vampire Hunter D movies.

@Panda-Kun, Really?! I was terrified when I saw it O.O I don't know, I can get scared pretty easily home alone I guess xD
&@Thanks Kallsu, I'm going to give those a look; I need to branch out my anime-genres.
@noodle, no, it's not, I agree; Ring was better (they looked very similar, same directors, maybe?)

I did the same, all lights off! ( I caved first time I saw the storybook with the creepy ass ryhmes lmao xD)
I agree though, it lost the scary-factor when I realized babadook was a figment of imagination, but the suspense carried me through the rest of the film easily.
