While at the gym I saw a pair of guys laughing about a chubby girl working out about how she looks and they weren't being quiet, I know she heard them.
I Walked by them holding 75 lb dumb bells, let one "slip" from my hand onto one of their feet with a loud thud. Like it sounded like a balloon being popped under water, just a loud dull thud.
he freaks and falls over in obvious pain. I acted sorry and his buddy was laughing hard. Hurt guy kicks his friend in the balls and they both got kicked out of the gym for fighting.
I hate people like that. but it isn't over.
Girl noticed what I did and asked if I did it on purpose because of them making fun of her. I said yes. She told me "I don't need you to protect me, you're as bad as those assholes. Asshole." then she went back to working out.
I have no idea how I should feel about this. I didn't want her to thank me, I did it just to make the dude stop because he was a rude ass and it pissed me off. But.... wth?
Maybe she was misandrist?
IDK. what do you guys and gals think?

In that situation I probably would not have gone about it in quite that way. You were right to do something, of course. Most likely, she DID appreciate what you did, maybe just not the way in which you did it. A more straightforward approach would be to tell the guys off. Not rudely, just be straight up, "Oy, omae, stop acting like jerks. Don't you have anything better to do?" Just keep your cool and they'll feel incompetent and back off. You're the better man in this situation and those guys are just being immature assholes.
Still, she was definitely a little rude lol. I'd definitely be like wtf? too if I helped someone out and they responded like that. Never been bullied though, so idk. She might just be going through a lot, it's hard to consider her feelings since I've never been in that situation.

Ouch! That's gotta hurt for her to act that way towards you for shutting those rude guys up. TBH it's kind of one of the reasons why I don't really go out of my way for others. People can be so mean and ungrateful. I know you didn't want her to thank you, but doing so would've been polite, instead she was rude to you about it. What a bitch and those guys are complete assfucks.

@ararararagi_kun. I know, you're right. In retrospect I really should have handled it better. But logic falls out the window when I get upset and I just bull through and act on the first thing I can think of. :( I need to work on it.
@Tiger Festival. I hadn't expected or tried for any thanks, but I never expect to be shot down like that. I didn't even know I COULD be shot down like that. What I learned about social interactions did not include that class.
I got bullied a lot when I was younger so when I see that stuff I just can't leave it out there without something done. As arararara- jesus, lost count 3 times on how many to put. - as he put ^ I should have used more words instead of a passive-aggressive (Or aggressively passive) way of going about it.

@lordragna37. I will accept it, I am a dick for hurting the dude. I won't fight it or excuse it, I AM a dick for hurting him.
And I wouldn't say she deserves to be mocked or ridiculed about her physical appearance any further, but anything aimed at her being a bitch I have no qualm with.

As much as I respect protecting people, what you did was wrong. In fact, you're worse than they are because you went as far as to physically assault somebody. Even if you played it off as an accident, it was obvious to many that it wasn't, and they could have not only pressed charges on you, but you may have probably ruined that person's foot for the rest of their life. Even if they were making fun of somebody based on their physical appearance, you may have just cost them their job. What if they had a family? What if they needed that foot to do something? Even a minor foot injury can seriously set somebody back. You have to think about the consequences of your actions in the long run. Sure, a good eye-for-an-eye is called for in some cases....but that was just immature vengeance to protect somebody you didn't even know.
A wiser decision would have been to call them out, and possibly report it to the administrator of the facility. They would have taken measures to remove the harassment from the facility.
I don't blame the girl for being rude. She was probably capable of standing up for herself, and while you were just trying to be the "good guy" in the situation, you just went about it entirely wrong.

That or she didn't feel the need to feed bullies. The best weapon against a bully is to just ignore them and not give them fuel to the fire. No, I don't blame her. She probably was a completely responsible, adult woman capable of fighting her own battles. And "White Knighting" is a poor excuse. It works in fairy tales, but in reality it generally leads to a level of being unappreciated because when you execute it, you usually do so naively and without thinking your actions through.
Now, in a different scenario? Sure. Maybe some thugs holding her at gunpoint. Or something like that. Break their foot all you want. But don't act like a douche to save somebody from douches.

Like somebody stated before me. She probably appreciated the gesture, but not how it was resolved. To her, that was just as bad, if not worse behavior.
