Where are all the good NEW anime?

Anybody watched any good anime that were made within the past year? I loved Death Parade, but other than that... it mostly seems a bit rubbish to be honest. I like anything that's good really, so genre isn't a huge factor. Any recommendations?

well in the past year my personal stand-outs that weren't sequels or anything were Grisaia no Kajitsu, Akatsuki no Yona, Kiseijuu, Nanatsu no Taizai, Cross Ange, Shigatsu wo Kimi no Uso, Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, Barakamon, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and Hanayamata.

Ah, thank you! There are a few in that list I haven't looked at yet, perhaps there are some great ones in there :o If you had to recommend one, which would it be?

hmmm, it depends on which genre is your favourite. mine is adventure so I really like akatsuki no yona (which is more shoujo aimed) and nanatsu no taizai (which is more shounen aimed.) but if you don't like adventure, Barakamon is another favourite of mine, it's a slice of life.

Adventure is a great genre, but I'm very picky about adventure anime... they have to have the right amount of action balanced with actual character development and a goal that I feel is actually reasonable. The only exception to this is Samurai Champloo, but that's because the goal in that one was not the point (otherwise it would be a terrible, terrible anime) :P Barakamon will probably be my first choice then, I do enjoy slice of life anime to help mix it up sometimes ^_^ Thank you!

Kekkai Sensen! That looks pretty awesome actually, good suggestion... I'll have to keep tabs on that one. And toxic, DUDE. Don't say that man. There has to be a season 2, too much was left unexplained! >.<
