I'm from the Bay Area but I go to school in Riverside. Currently back home but I'll be down in LA for AX and up in Sacramento for SacAnime in September. Hope to see you guys there~ :3

yeah, there should be hella more people in Cali up in here ... Like I am from the 415 area. I guess its hard to come out n tell folks you watch anime n read manga ... more hard since I am getting older ... so its less acceptable around family n peers/coworkers

Nothing wrong with liking anime. XD These days you have adults who like Disney and comic books, so why is anime any different, well other than that anime covers just about every genre and has more mature, unique, and deep themes, and often more realistic anatomy. Those who shun anime as a whole are just close-minded. Or they only know about "kids" anime or hentai.
