For anyone who doesn't know! :3

The Edgerunner "what if the gif is a file and not a website? i have several gifs saved and cannot use them." A late responds, but if they are files(Like on your pc) use http://imgur.com/ Works with all common image formats(Although some trouble with .bmp files).

hmmm lemme see :D http://media.giphy.com/media/HzW5ChmfH0Rqg/giphy.gif aha i found it :) sometimes if a gif doesnt show up its cause its not showing up at the proper source, so for example if its a repost on giphy... u need to get the link from the original source :) if it doesnt end with .jpg or .gif its not the original source ^^ a bit of a trick, if the website name is not the correct source, u can do right click on a gif or picture, and go to "element inspection" on the right, or down, it should give a source link :) thats the correct one that always will work :)

Let me illustrate it for people having trouble to understand just what the heck im talking about :) Step 1: now lets suppose u got a cool gif somewhere... i take this example from giphy ^^ http://i62.tinypic.com/11hcpkj.png step 2: as we can see, the regular giphy URL will not allow us to show it here on MO, so we need to get deeper! http://i59.tinypic.com/2zhin2o.png step 3: yes i know its dutch, but u get the general idea, just click the "element inspect" button on the gif file its right click on the gif for people who are new to this ^^ http://i58.tinypic.com/jr9r81.png based on my chrome browser, on the right side should open a new tab containing alot of jumbo mumbo for the people not familiar with this, its the website source code, here awaits the true gif URL! all the blue marked text is about the gif, so u dont need to look far, if u clicked on the gif to open the elements it should auto select it for you :) http://i61.tinypic.com/156bkax.png step 5: i made a close up for the right link, it ends with a .gif, and if u hover the mouse u should see a miniature of the gif in a new pop up :) http://i57.tinypic.com/2niw20o.png hopefully this can/will help some people :D i am not responsible for anything! just sharing a little technique DerpZ out :)
