PLENTY of male anime characters are voiced by females. Orochimaru, a majority of shonen characters, you name it. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Pitou was called a "he" in the manga wasn't he? Though I watched the anime first making me think he was a girl.
Though either way he's an ant so he could be neither really.
