Also, if people want platonic relationships, be upfront about it, not say something along the lines of "possibly looking for something more" on a profile, then lead a guy on.

Well in my case it's more whoever I end up with next I don't want them to be the rebound guy. I just got out of an 8 year relationship. There is nothing more important than being upfront. I can only speak from my own point of view, but if I went and dated some one right now (I know I do want to date someone eventually) I am still sorting though my own thoughts and feelings. It wouldn't be fair to the new guy in my life and I wouldn't want to cause that type of pain on anyone. You have to be happy in yourself first and foremost.

Lucille, I will agree with that statement, but there will come a point in time were you have to metaphorically slap yourself in the face and start moving forward again. Grieving is natural, but if you wallow in self pity over it for too long, you may miss out on some amazing prole as well as potential long lasting relationships.
