Ff8 waf a very good one, off also the megami tensei series, pretty mucho all rpg from atlus

Persona, Disgaea, FF... For first place it's a tie between Tales of Graces f and Persona4Golden.

Well if you mean Japanese language RPGs mine would have to be Magic Knight Rayearth (Sega Saturn) and Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX). JRPGs (genre) I have a few favorites: Chrono Trigger/Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics/VI/VII, Star Ocean the 2nd Story, Threads of Fate, Lunar 2 Eternal Blue, Xenogears, and the Xenosaga series to name a few.
