What I was trying to say (maybe not as clearly as I should have >.>) was that W.O.R.L.D is the AI and created the game H.F.O. as a means of wiping out the gods. So it purposefully distributed the game world wide and is going to use the players to do the dirty work for it and kill the gods (considering reality merges and they now have the capability to kill gods) We can even incorporate what you just said into this and say that they're aware of what W.O.R.L.D. is doing and uses the mergers to materialize in the real world and try to stop it (we can even expand this and say it starts causing conflict in the deicide legion because some aren't so sure the gods are the bad guys)

Yeah, I'm good with that. We still need to work out time details tho. It could seem that at one point the gods are bad, then it come into question the people are bad for trying to stop god after all he could stop war and lead humanity to utopia, on the other hand maybe W.O.R.L.D is the evil AI..

ok so here is how we can do it the ai sends them to a virtual world which is another dimension in which the gods have decided to destroy (the reason they have done this is because god has grown tired of humanity they see them as a bunch of worthless an ungrateful beings full of sin and they have strayed to far from the ways of holy worship so they are going through dimensions destroying all the humans and races) so as they prepare for war to protect themselves the people sent into the world see it as just a game but as things turn out if you die in the virtual world you die in the real world...our group as decided to join the war cause their world isnt advanced enough to fight off the gods its more of a rough draft

I love convoluted antagonist plots like this! xD see what you're idea started mumbles? No idea is a bad idea hahaha...so our obvious main antagonist is the leader of the holy crusaders (the lovable evil dictator type) though the sub antagonist can seem like W.O.R.L.D. or the Gods depending on what part of the story you're at. So at the start it looks like the Gods are evil because of the game, but over time W.O.R.L.D. is shown to be not exactly evil, but the one in the wrong. (Say, it's only trying to remove the gods from existence because just because they exist they cause disruptions in it's calculations and projections of how it's regulating the world) -Edit(to answer Kc)- Why not all the gods from all the religions? Let's just say they all exist so as not to piss off one singular religion?

Yeah, maybe the Ai gets a little testy when things don't go W.O.R.L.D.s way. The Ai gets down right aggressive to ANYTHING that goes against it. Maybe there is something WORLD isn't telling them, like after all gods are defeated they will be stuck In the game forever.. WORLD isn't very open about things and mid series that plot twist cause them to search for a way to stop the Ai and the gods. yeah as many religions as possible without going overboard

Well, Just putting this out there my Particular character would fall under the only out for themselves faction seeing as how My character is a Merchant of sorts basically a black market king. But im putting that all into a Bio. And Karasu Seems to get what I was trying to tell everyone earlier in the post about having more than one Character to focus on. Though this may be late im addressing the question about which gods. Considering the game spans the world why not have all of them however selecting a few per region of focus ya know.
