Its hard to just walk up to random strangers. Much easier in a group or social setting where talking is needed.

Confidence. A girl loves a guy with confidence. You just have to know a good balance between confident and cocky, because that can instantly turn a girl off in a heartbeat. Us women are like animals. We can smell your fear, your uncertainty, hesitancy, and fear of rejection. Don't waltz over acting like she's a sure thing, but you need to give yourself the impression that she could at least hear what you've got to say. All women are different so it won't work 100% of the time, but your success rate will definitely improve. Smile, be kind, and relax, have fun!

honestly, girls feel the same ways about boys. hard to talk to etc. but honestly just start a conversation. "nice costume" "whats your fav show?" "did you like the remake" are great ways to start if youre at a con. never know what coulda been if you dont try. but if she isnt interested dont force it!

Talking to a girl isn't hard. Asking a girl out is, but only when you actually have feelings for them. Just like people have been saying, talk about common interests or even just talk to see if you have something in common. Once you've got that you'll get comfortable talking to them.

Just be yourself well I can't say that works for me I'm really weird but just go up introduced yourself like a boss "hi I'm Rex and I love muffins" that's what I say and sometimes it works and other times they slowly walk away lol

Give her a complement introduce yourself and make small talk if u can if she smiles or laugh or shy she kinda into you and give her your number and if she calls or text back she interested

Let me just rant here. I really hate it when someone messages me random crap that don't make sense just to get my attention and talk to them. It's really annoying and it makes me really not want to talk to the person forever just because he doesn't know how to start a freaking conversation. It's such a bother, really. I don't know if it applies to other girls. Just saying saying random stupid stuff to people is NOT how you talk to a girl. Saying cocky pickup lines don't work either >_<
