From a conversation on the last page: My school was an alternative school founded by hippies in the 70s. There's around 250 kids from K through 12 all in the same building and only 45 kids in the high school. From a conversation on the first page: Yeah the age thing is all because Jikokun (whatever his name is now) and yasshat started this whole OMG we have to protect the kiddies from the rapists movement trying to turn this into an 18+ site because of the term "dating" being used as a descriptor was going to magically attract pervs which was all brought on by one or two underage girls getting a few comments/messages from some former stalker/perverts (who got booted when were reported). So as a compromise an adjustment was made that anyone under 18 had to add someone for them to comment to avoid being spammed by random perverts.
