meanwhile we have a gi-normous deficit, skyrocketing unemployment, inflation on food and fuel prices, and the banks we were FORCED to bail out are making record profit and getting tax cuts and bonuses, while the gov't they bought and paid for makes cuts on public services and deregulates worker rights and rapes the environment.//there's no reason to be in iraq and afghanistan (for 10 years). no reason to be have spent 388 billion in afghanistan and 780 billion in iraq (money and materials also missing/unaccounted for)... i know you're not surprised, but you should be pissed and doing something about it. go here and see how much we spend every minute. http://costofwar.com/en/

This certainly isn't a shocker. Both Democrats and Republicans have VERY little, if any, interest in leaving a "liberated" Afghanistan. There's more than just all that natural wealth in Afghanistan that catches the nose of U.S. imperialism. http://english.pravda.ru/business/finance/17-06-2010/113883-afghanistan-0/
The West does not care who is in power anywhere, so long as it serves the whims of the West.

Believe me, I AM pissed off about this (when I watch the news, my blood pressure goes up). I have a few choice words for the stooges in Washington, but I can't say them here.

If the teabaggers actually gave a shit about government spending, they would be COMPLETELY in favor of cutting the defense budget in half. The fact that they aren't is proof that they are all complete liars and hypocrites who don't care about wasteful spending if it supports their perverted agenda.

Republican candidate Ron Paul said he would actually cut the defense budget and get the troops out of the Middle East. Let's see what happens.

Right on MissAnthropic! And we are fixing to get ensnared in another money hole, Libya. I took part in peace marches during Vietnam and it appears we have never learned a darn thing since then. Let's be clear here. I know that maintaining a free country requires a strong military. Freedom isn't free. But we can't keep fighting other folks wars because of some domino theory crap. And who gets to decide which dominoes matter? The self serving military-industrial complex who scared us into those wars warning about high gas prices. WHAT A JOKE! How long do we fight terrorism before we admit that how we are going about it doesn't work? The pro-war faction rank right up there with the Birthers on the self delusion index.
