Anyone else interested becoming a Voice actor?

Not really a life goal for me but I think it would still be pretty awesome. I heard it's hard to start your VA career though. I have a friend who absolutely adore my voice and says it sounds like Morgan Freeman but I think he's exaggerating because it's not very deep and my accent break the english language a little bit.

I thought it would be really cool but I'm a rather shy person and even more I don't think I have a voice that would be suited for most characters nor do I think I can change it much.

That would be an awesome job and technically I do have experience. Lol, well a 2 session paid gig in middle school to dub a German educational film. But I haven't bothered to try, but I should. Not because I think my voice is anything special but because I can read lines with emotion and passion. I've always been able to do that since I was young. There is a famous voice actor who's name I can't recall without using Google who has a YouTube vid of him impersonating an outrageous number of famous people and actors and he's damn good.

I personally haven't bothered because that's a hard nut to crack, and you need unwavering passion for years and a lot of hard work. But I wish AnimeFan all the luck.

Voice acting requires one to be able to act as well. Even if your voice isn't the best sounding, you can still do a good job if you put enough practice and know how to act in the moment. As for Arnold, yeah, I've heard of him before. From what I saw in the video, he seems to have a pretty good selection of voices and accents and the like. Nitpicky, but it's a shame he's had to play some pretty terrible characters. (Nothing against him, obviously).

I have also tried to be a voice actor. There are many things to do to become a voice actor. My Physics teacher's sister and a class mate of mine are voice actors and they say the forst thing to do it post work. On Voice.com on youtube, on anysite you cn show off on. Another is to take some sort of theatre classes to practice to not over act (a VERY COMMON mistake in Acting in general) Secondly, decide what type of voice acting and for what genere. Anime voice acting is much harder to get into. And from being able to talk to other voice ctors with experience, they said that Anime Voice Acting tends to be more work for less pay. Video game VA is easy, but hard to get a job in. You have to have connections, or just be absolutely amazing and be found. Upload a lot of random and/or silly videos demonstrating your voice's ability. Thirdly, Get an agent to represent you and get you work. of course it might be expensive, but it will be worth it to get more work.
