There are lots of interesting aspects to wearing a costume. If you don't want to stand out, wearing normal clothes is fine - lots of congoers do this. Depending on the con, it could be most of the congoers wearing normal clothes, or it could be a small percentage. However, if you are wearing a costume of a character you are comfortable with, you can act like your character. There's no need to hide or be shy, because people aren't paying attention to you - they're paying attention to your role. It just seems easier to be loud and have fun in costume, at least for me, XD.

yeah a lot of people dont cosplay i just go in my whats there in my house i will soon cosplay when i have money to make or buy them

Regarding having your picture taken... if you don't want your photo taken, kindly decline the picture request. I've asked cosplayers in the past whether or not they wanted their picture taken and while most of them were okay with it, some said no. So I backed off and let them be.

my first con I cosplayed as edward elric, and got glomped by an al from behind. But the ones after I didn't cosplay anything. So what I'm saying is you don't have to cosplay its just icing on the awesome cake that is you and this cake isn't a lie ^^

thats so far from the truth lol. you WILL get noticed if you do something like yelling.....something random like OBJECTION, cosplaying has nothing do with being noticed, its all about how you present yourself

I remember going to my first convention as Wisdom Form Sora it was awesome, I suggest going with friends though it's more fun that way. If you don't plan on cosplaying, hey you are there to have fun so do it.
