http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PandaX Is there something dangerous about Xenon? I thought it was a commonly used element (though not in that quantity).

Yeah it is, however if they are able to find what they are looking for then comes the question what will happen with that knowledge. Of course so far their studies have turned up null. Xenon itself is nothing to worry about however if they can find the so called dark matter in the test they are talking about well im a bit iffy on the matter of them wanting to find it. Then again thats a opinion.

I would think dark energy would be more interesting as it is theorized to permeate everything on some level. Though I haven't kept up on the research of what "it" (dark energy/matter) really is, relative to regular energy/matter.

I wouldn't worry about the whole dark matter issue. It's kind of like how some thought cern would make black holes with the hadron collider ( even if that ever happens , they would become unstable to quickly to actually do anything). There's always anti matter and we have been able to male that....in the smallest sense possible. Just don't let that contact regular matter...it goes BOOM, but that leaves room for massive energy possibilities. Buuuut....to much energy is needed to create even the small amount they have. I think it was something like six seconds ( correct me of I'm wrong ) that they were able to keep Istable, which is aamazing in of it's self.

I'm sorry, jumping into the conversation (more specifically into the earlier part of the conversation). Something that I have been thinking about lately is a sort of real-life save point (inspired by vita chambers from bioshock 2), related to what you guys were talking about before. It seems like an interesting idea, a chamber that scans your bod and stores your genetic information and regenerate you. The way that I thought about this was that the chamber would have to have some sort of monitoring device in you to monitor your vital signs and record the information you process, so that when you die, you would be regenerated in the chamber to the original version without the knowledge you gained after originally "saving", and then the chamber plays back the information that happened to you so that you can process that, and save again (to fix the issue of regen to original state before memories). I like talking about this kind of stuff, but when you get into dark matter and advanced physics, you've lost me :D

~Loli-Chan I was thinking sort of along the lines that 3D Printing would be a feasible way to reproduce a body, but I hadn't taken into account choosing one's self image because that should be an option, considering that with an advanced technology, why not just make the extra designer option (I personally love the "Designer Babies" idea coming to surface in the genetics world, not in respects of choosing traits for the child, but that eventually that same technology could feasibly be applied to actual adults who are conscious of their own choices). I also hadn't taken into account the data storage. Yeah. It would be a ridiculous amount of info to store. It would probably be easier to just, in fact, grow new vessels given stem cells of the original, making alterations in the dna where desired to change traits (and even gender). To access the internet similarly to SAO, and even fully submerging one's existence into it would be quite interesting. The only fear I would have with this is the loss of control. Like you said, "immortality isn't what I seek", so the digital killing wouldn't bother me, but a hacker that took control of me would freak me out. I mean, they could alter your programming so that you wouldn't even be self aware anymore. They could rewrite your consciousness to suit their needs, rather than letting you be who you are. That, I find scary. Also, you mentioned the Cuil Theory, so I went through your link and read a lot of it. At first, I was a bit confused, but it makes sense after thinking about it for a bit. In fact, it is quite interesting. This is my understanding of it (please correct any errors that I might have about it): The Cuil Theory is basically a scale of perception. As you move into positive infinity on the spectrum, perception becomes infinitely more distorted and branched in a web of inter-relationships that do not necessarily logically relate to one another. In this sense, positive infinity Cuil is a kind of distortion that is like being aware of everything at once so that you can't be aware of anything specifically. As you approach negative infinity on the spectrum, the branching/inter-relationships and distortions of perception are reduced, to what the site claims that at negative infinity, there is a single point, sort of like an extremely focused point at which there is no other points to relate to. In this sense, this negative infinity Cuil is a different kind of distortion, a distortion in which only one piece of reality is perceived, ignoring all other pieces. I want to discuss this more, because I am still trying to grasp it. ^^

To solve the issue about falling apart, What about 3D printing in an artificial uterus type of container, so basically an artificial reproduction of the human life event through cell assembly suspended in an appropriate solution that would neither dehydrate or over hydrate the cells as they are assembled in to complex tissues and eventually a full grown body? (wow, that was a ridiculous run-on) The solution would provide both nutrients/vital necessities, as well a pressure on the suspended growth so that it wouldn't just be disorganized floating cells. Might that be feasible (I'm still running this through my head, so it probably doesn't make the clearest of sense)? Cuil theory: Thank you for explaining it in depth! XD The way you describe it makes a lot more sense to me. I can't help but wonder how dreams would rank in the Cuil system (I can't resist introducing dreams into this because all of the higher cuility examples sound like things that happen in dreams, or at least that's what I think). Considering that dreams aren't necessarily reality, and logic doesn't always play a role in what happens in dreams. And then what about lucid dreams, where you understand that you are dreaming? Would this be lower Cuil than unconscious dreams, or higher, considering sometimes lucid dreams are more bizarre because even though you realize it's a dream, you accept the odd occurrences as truth? Eh, now I am ranting about dreams. :P ( http://www.lucidity.com/slbbs/ a link about a lucid dream study, not really related to conversation, though...) About AIs I'm not exactly sure why anyone would want to make an AI that was able to utilize this. I mean, there is the classic "computers outsmarting humans" argument here against it, but then again, what purpose would it serve to make an AI that could have a human kind of thought. I think it would be more useful for any form of artificial intelligence to merely be those "non sentient 0 cuil beings" because that would provide us with a perception of 0 Cuil, which is probably as close as we can get to being around 0 cuil. (I dunno if that makes sense) Heheh, computer spouses. That would be interesting, to say the least. Honestly (the reference might be a bit juvenile, but Spongebob is my childhood ^-^), it would be hilarious to have a spouse like Plankton's Karen 2.0 . She's so blunt. It's perfect. Though, in reality, I'm not sure how it would work.
