One Piece or Dragon ball?

Just interested to see who likes what :) what did you guys think of the Manga/Anime? and which do you think is the greatest?! :)

Damn bro! Dragon ball is like my childhood manga.. but I would still say One Piece all the way. The One Piece anime is really good and even some of the filler is well done placed in the story. I think they do pretty well compared to other big animes like Bleach and Naruto filler but that is just my opinion.

yea I think you're right, dragon ball was great butttttt one piece kinda takes top spot I think :) i need to re watch the animes and read the manga soon :)

Dragon Ball has infinitely greater reach and influence but I can agree with One Piece having a more consistent and well thought-out storyline. Though I'd say it's far from "perfect".

Dragonball as an anime, op as manga. The One Piece anime series has gotten really bad after around episode 400. The war was animated rather poorly and so were the following arcs. Also its dragges out as hell. Dbz was dragged out too but atleast the animation was top class for the time it was released

I wanted to post on this thread days ago but forgot to Lol. Being someone who grew up with DBZ (And DB and GT of course) And having only seen like uh, 215 One Piece episodes? I started One Piece last year actually, August maybe? and blew through 215 ish episodes in the month xD I avoided the series for years cause I didn't think I would like it. ._. But anyway, from what i've seen of One Piece so far, I still can't favor it over DBZ, HOWEVER, fillers are well placed (so far) like blackmage said, and i'm enjoying the series a lot. I love the whole adventure/journey aspect of One Piece, in my opinion no series does that better. (from what i've seen so f) That being said (too lazy to go into further detail Lol), both series have different strengths and weaknesses, pros and cons, etc, I like them both but if we're gonna go with "Which is the greatest" i'm gonna just bring Yu Yu Hakusho into the mix, although i'd probably be laughed out of this thread. 8D But yeah, I prefer DBZ, but both series are completely different and can't be compared to one another. ~

I'll have to go with One Piece, the characters have more back to their story and resolve when it comes down to it in my opinion. Growing up with DBZ was great though, its just my favorite character was killed off Cooler, glad he got two movies but still it was tough continuing the series when the villains were often better in the movies than the show itself. Last thing I'll say is One Piece has great scenes that betray the emotions very well. DBZ was more like 5 minute gasp, he died! LOL anyway both epic just prefer One Piece a lot more.

Well, when comparing the original Dragon Ball to One Piece, I think they're about even when it comes to the humor and fight scenes, though One Piece does have the overall better story. That's only because it's still continuing today. As for comparing One Piece to DBZ or DBZ Kai? That really doesn't make sense. DBZ from the get go was meant to mostly be an action cartoon. That's coming from Akira himself and it shows. Yes, you had characters like Vegeta who had lots of progression in his character, but that wasn't the main focus of the show. That was the fighting. One Piece, which it does have awesome fights, is about adventures, government conspiracies, rebellions, and finding treasures, such as the One Piece. So, I don't think you can actually compare the two. Basically, they're both great shows.
