I don't think they ruined anything by changing it to a new world xoreimox...if you read the light novels Alfiem Online starts to be nearly identical to Aincard, and Gun Gale Online is completely different, though I think it will be a good anime adaptation of the light novel, the only character to get a lot of screen time from the Aincard/Alfiem arcs is Kirito...but I won't spoil anymore...I've already said too much >.>

Gotta agree with karasu. I don't see any issue with the alfheim arc and i dont get it when other people say that. It follows a plot. And I like that it changes things up.

There is another sword art thread, and in gun gale online there is a sword. there are still swords. kirito only makes swords more badass, and why he learns in gun gale he takes to Alfiem.
