I'm moving to Fort Wayne this summer, and I was wondering if anybody here's familiar with the place.

I just moved to terre haute and it's pretty decent. Fort wayne is on the scarier side, but it isnt awful.

It's super ghetto and most parts are just sketchy. You just gotta watch out at night. There are some real freaks there.

Thanks, haha. I've been networking, getting to know the people my friend has met up there, and the fact that they're fellow Dagorhir people as well as the fact that there is a local SCA chapter already has me feeling a bit more confident about the move. I also hear there's a lot of anime fans, but that's all subjective, of course. What's the area close to IPFW like?

I use to live in Fort Wayne (lived there most all my life). I know the whole city pretty well. I still go back twice a year (I live in MD now). The area close to IPFW is decent, nothing really wrong w/ it. Things have happened, but kind of rare. The worst area is the SE side of town and the downtown area (between the two along Pontiac St. is horrible).

I'm surprised there is an Indiana thread here. Live near Fishers myself. This state is pretty dry when it comes to otaku pass times.
