Help!!! What's a H-game and should I play one?? (Story)

So my friend cares about me very much and I think is a bit concerned on how I'm independent. She calls it too independent. I don't mind being alone, don't mind shopping be myself or sitting in the cafeteria at school by myself. Well while we were at barns and noble she showed me to the relationship help area and she shoved a few flirting guide books on me. I'm extremely innocent cause I've only had two bf's that didn't last long and never really went anywhere. so I was curious and wanted to read them. But she interrupted saying I should try a few H-games for romance and other tips....Whaaaaa??? 1st what is a H-game?? And second should I? I'm quite confused by how she added "other tips" I've seen some anime like high school of the dead but I've heard that doesn't really count.... So... What do I do??

H-games/eroge are basically perverted video games with no set style of play. The only real criteria is that they have sexual content in them. A typical format would be chasing a certain character, following their story line and ending with the main character performing any sort of sexual act with that character in the end. I don't know if this will help with your romance problem (Nah, probably not.) It'll probably just heighten your libido and make you want to fuck every Japanese high school girl with abnormally colored hair. Your friend probably meant for you to play a Dating Sim, which is simply a visual novel with the objective of courting one (sometimes more; harem ending) romantic interest among the set number of 'date-able' characters. TL;DR Don't play an H-game unless you've got some pent up frustration or want to see an animated character get raped by centaurs. Dating guide books can help but dating is all about being social, resonating, and reading the atmosphere, so it varies depending on who the other person is that you're dealing with.

Some of them (H-game or Visual Novel) have no H-scene : - Narcissu (playtime ~4h) - Ever17 (playtime ~30h) - ... I don't know the other but those games are my favorite. And I recommend them if you want to know what it is.

They're pretty fun though. But, if you're as innocent as you say you are, you should start with an Otome game or something. Otome games/bishounen games are visual novels/datesims in which you take on the role of a female character, courting male characters (in contrast to galge/bishoujo games, which is the opposite.)
