On June 1983, Keiichi Maebara moves with his family to Hinamizawa, a peaceful rural village. He quickly befriends his new schoolmates Rena Ryugu, Mion Sonozaki, Satoko Hojo, and Rika Furude, usually spending their leisure time playing board games.

The endless cycle of murders has been broken and Rika is finally able to settle down for a normal life with her friends. However, she is involved in a traffic accident and wakes up in a world where everything is different.

The story picks up after what happened in season one. Things that are left unexplained in the first season get explained in the new season in three separate arcs.

Things change when Kenichi meets Furinji Miu, whose grandfather runs a dojo; and not knowing what he’s getting himself into, he signs up to become a disciple.

Shiki Tohno is just an average high school student who is ordinary in every way except one: ever since a freak accident brought him inches away from death, he has been able to see lines on people and objects. If he traces these lines with a cutting tool, he can slice through them regardless of the length of the blade or the thickness of the object being cut.

Based on a novel by Nasu Kinoko, writer for TYPE-MOON. Kara no Kyoukai plays in a parallel universe to that of Tsukihime.
