Thee story of Black Butler follows one wealthy young aristocrat, Ciel Phantomhive, and his demond butler Sebastian, who is known as One Hell of a Butler. Just a stone's throw away from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom and its young master, Ciel Phantomhive.

The series follows Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler who is bound by a supernatural contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the thirteen-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble family and the business-savvy owner of the Funtom company, a toy manufacturer. In return, when Sebastian has helped Ciel finish all of his tasks, including avenging his parents' deaths, Sebastian will be allowed to kill him and consume his soul.

Ciel Phantohive, head of the funtom company ever since his parents tragic death and the Queen of England's watchdog, signs a contract with a demon who he calls Sebastian Michaelis. They go through a series of events all in search of the killer of his parents while solving crimes that takes more skill than the Scotland Yard.

The TV series will adapt the Noah's Ark Circus Arc, picking the manga story back up from the point at which they diverged. This arc immediately follows the Curry Contest Arc in the manga, which ended at episode 15 in the first season of the anime.
