This is the series BEFORE the more well known international version "Yugioh! Duel Monster".

The game of Duel Monsters has changed; a new addition has been introduced to the future of dueling as seen in 5D's: "Turbo Duels". These duels are played in giant stadiums, and duelists ride motorcycles with built-in duel equipment known as "Duel Runners" ("D-Wheels" in the original Japanese version).

There once was a man named Gold Rodger, a pirate, and he was given the glorious title: ‘King of the Pirates’ for possessing the legendary treasure, One Piece. He had fame, fortune, and power, until one day, he caught and brought to the execution tower to be executed.

Kurosaki Ichigo is not your average, everyday 15-year-old high school student. He has from as far he can remember always had the ability to see ghosts and spirits.

Yukiteru "Yuki" Amano is a loner who spends most of his time writing a diary on his cell phone or talking with his imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space; and Murmur, Deus' servant. One day, Deus gives Yuki a special diary, mentioning something about a game.

The story picks up after what happened in season one. Things that are left unexplained in the first season get explained in the new season in three separate arcs.
