The story follows an introvert college freshman named Kanji Sasahara, who was just looking for a place to belong to. During club day on his university, he decides to join a club that he will actually enjoy, hoping that he will fit in.

The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, otherwise known as Genshiken, is now under the supervision of a more confident Sasahara. Things have changed in between semesters, and the otaku club now has a new otaku-hating member named Ogiue.

Memories consists of three dazzling stories, each delivered with its own astonishing style. "Magnetic Rose," based on a manga short by Katsuhiro Otomo, concerns two space travelers following a distress signal drawn into a magnificent world created by one woman's memories.

Violence Jack is uncovered amongst the rubble and demolished granite by the inhabitants of this city, asking him to help the weak people and helping them destroy what, in most cases, are the strong groups commanded by killers and rapists (this is the story line of Violence Jack: Evil Town).
