The year is Cosmic Era 73. The Bloody Valentine War fought between the PLANTS space colonies and the nations of the Atlantic Federation has ended and an uneasy truce has settled upon the Earth sphere.

The confrontation between the Earth Alliance (Naturals) and Zaft (Coordinators) originated in economic trouble had reached an impasse. War couldn't be stopped by that point, and thus this story begins one year later when Heliopolis, a resource satellite belonging to a neutral nation, is suddenly attacked by a Zaft mobile suit force.

Issei Hyodo is your average perverted high school student whose one wish in life is to have his own harem, but he's got to be one of the unluckiest guys around. He goes on his first date with a girl only to get brutally attacked and killed when it turns out the girl is really a vicious fallen angel.

Isei finds new troubles about to enter into his life and two even sleeping in his bed. While looking at an old photo album of Isei's, Kiba sees a familiar sword being held by an old friend of Isei's, which reopen's old wounds.

Kagome Higurashi, a normal 15-year-old girl, falls down a dry well--and finds herself in the feudal past, 50 years after her ancestress Kikyo imprisoned the half-human/half-demon Inu-Yasha. As the reincarnation of Kikyo, Kagome possesses a magic jewel that greatly increases the power of demons.

The story picks up after what happened in season one. Things that are left unexplained in the first season get explained in the new season in three separate arcs.
