It follows Maomao, a 17-year-old pharmacist kidnapped and sold into servitude in the emperor’s palace. Using her medical knowledge, she solves mysteries and breaks a “curse” on the imperial heirs, earning a promotion to food taster. However, she soon finds herself back to brewing potions and uncovering more mysteries.
