It really depemds, at least for me. I guess it matters more of the maturity of the person rather than their age.

How about a new forum for introductions? Say, if people are new to the site, they can post and introductory topic and meet people, rather than just diving in. It can be sort of intimidating for people to try to just rush in ^^; Just an idea.
