Heyo uwu . Modern things to check out, hmm, regarding anime it is probably Demon Slayer, Steins;Gate (show can be a bit mind bending tho), Dr.Stone (fun to watch when you ignore the fighting, cuz that is hella boring), Attack on titan (didnt watched it yet o.o ) and maybe Seven deadly sins. It really depends on what genre you are looking for, but those are some coming to my mind right now ^^
