How does yuri romance compare to straight romance. I'd like to say they're equal, but I'd be kidding myself, with different demographics, different tropes and different cliches, it's easy to say the protrayl of relaionshiops are... different 1. Is yuri hotter Well... yes, but that's a given if you are a straight male with lesbian fetishes. So disregard that, since it has no bearing on your opinion of the actual love 2. Yuri is sweeter. This is one piece of territory we shouldn't get into. Enjoying girl love is fine, but putting it on a pedistool and making it out to be inherenly more innocent than regular love is not right (*ahem* Ikuhara). However, it's hard not to when anime makes it that way. Yuri couples in legit yuri are portrayed as more innocent, sweet and tender. But that's a dual edged sword. It makes it less realistic and more idealized. But it's also the reason some striaght girls like yuri more than yaoi. That's assuming yaoi is mostly smut. I don't read/watch it, so I can't say that. But others do say that. However, I try to see heterosexual love and yuri as equals. For some strange reason, I'm for some reason against a yuri couple when they're introduced, but when I see how sweet they are together, I want to them them happy... this happens whenever I watch a yuri couple I haven't seen before. 3. Yuri is better Well... that's impossible really. There's less than 20 legit yuri romance anime, compared to thousands of regular romance... you can't really compare the two in terms of quality.
