I have been all over the place: Hometown is not too far from Waterloo, attended high school in the South, went to Dartmouth for my undergrad, and worked in Silicon Valley as a Program Manager at Udacity after graduation. Interspersed throughout are American West road trips.
Got bored of work and decided to come home for graduate studies in Computer Science, learn more about computer graphics, and prepare myself for a potentially better career opportunity in the game industry. What do people do these days other than work and work out? Well I'm a bit of a heavy troll myself on the Meetups, having been an eminent leader myself for various interest groups in the Bay Area. I go to PAX Prime every year? That has become a bit of a tradition for me and a group of veterans. Not too long ago I had this fairly colorful dream of a degenerate human seeking redemption in a renewed consciousness inside the chassis of a robot; a timely post-apocalyptic idea for my attempt at a VR production in the Unreal Engine 4. Unfortunately, most of my dreams consist of falling towards an uncertain death occurring at the moment I wake up in a cold sweat. Does anyone remember those?
Outing Clubs give me a staple of excuses to skip the city life and aimlessly scale mountains in pursuit of that sublime 16-megapixel shot. But the daily trance of trance in a haze of digital hallucinations colloquially known as coding or the Internet is my nirvana. After all, a life of reddit and books is a life well lived, is it not?
