I am a software engineer by education, interest and experience. I love to problem solve and can sometimes engross myself in something that consumes an entire afternoon.
I own my own condo in South SF on a quiet culdesac where I:
- tend to my indoor garden (not vegies, just regular potted plants)
- relax and recouperate from the day's challenges
- construct or collect somewhat wacky things to decorate my house with
- sometimes take my cat for a walk outside (she likes to sniff everything)
I am the sort of person that enjoys my time at home; I save my enthusiasm for an outdoor/down-town escapade for when I have a suitable friend to plan activities with. I've never been much for the party/club/bar scene, but if that is your thing, then I'm game. My philosophy is "It's not about what I'm doing, it's about whom I'm with."
When I like someone I tend to gravitate toward traditional/cheesy/stereotypical romantic stuff and I especially love doing little surprising, silly, sweet things for my co-conspirator... just to brighten their day a little. I truly do miss having that special someone to devote my zany creative engergies toward. If I can make you laugh or smile, then my mission is accomplished.
My interests can be quite diverse; speak to me on just about any subject and I can usually find something to to say about it. I particularlly love to talk about politics, current events/news, economics and various liberal/societal issues. The later I spend much free time each day keeping abreast of. If you also enjoy a healthy indepth discussion in any of those areas I welcome the opportunity to have a chat with you.
I don't get offended easily and so I don't know of any subjects that are "taboo" for me. That said, if a subject has been put on the table then I would hope it has become fair game for me to explore in conversation as well. That is to say "don't dish it if you can't take it".
I always try to be honest and specific/precise about anything I'm talking about, in the hope that any pretense of "playing games" can be avoided.
I maintain a tiny circle of those I would consider close friends. It is something rare and special for me to add someone to that circle.
Although I usually warm up to people pretty fast. When I truly feel comfortable around someone when I start making jokes, creating little short songs/diddys and generally having a silly good time.
I never stop trying to come up with creative solutions for problems of the world.
I am deeply sentimental about family, and I very much hope to have my own before I'm old and grey.
One of my greatest pleasures is cuddling up with my significant other to watch a show (be it youtube, television, movie, or live performance). Cuddling is the best, especially on a cold day, with blankets and possibly a pillow fort :)
I debate things in order to understand the why's of the world, but if I ever push too far, just let me know and I will attempt to reset the conversation to a baseline good happy place.
I love... absolutely LOVE to share my favorite things with others, and as such don't be surprised when I suggest rewatching old awesome things I've collected over the years.

My daily Entertainment comes from: Anime, web comics, video games, news of the day, the daily show or other similar comedy/news programs.
My Interests: Technology, Politics, Plants, Anime, Software, Hardware, the Cosmos, Time travel, video editing (I have made anime music videos for the joy of creation).
FUN FACTS: (well fun to me if not anyone else)
1) One of the greatest truisms in the world is "quick, good, inexpensive. Pick 2".
2) Yes, the grass is always greener on the other side. Now get off my lawn! (practicing my crotchety old man speak)
3) Babylon 5 ruined scifi for me. Nothing else can compare.
4) I write the same way that I speak. I also speak my mind.
I look forward to meeting new interesting people for friendship and hopefully more.
