Yo!
One of my earliest memories was watching a VHS copy of My Neighbor Totoro when I was about 2; so you could say I have been into anime all my life! I even took that passion to college and got a bachelor's degree in Media and Culture Studies from the University of California Riverside where I specialized in critical analysis of anime and games.
Currently I work as a para-educator in a special education classroom. I plan on going back to school soon; hopefully to gain a masters in psychology.
I love watching shows that are different in some way (Arakawa Under the Bridge for example is such a wonderful mix of slapstick and thought provoking poetry), but I'm also good with the classics too (I can never seem to get enough giant robots!) I was an active participant in
both my high school and college anime clubs and i got to watch some amazing things in those days. I am an avid cosplayer; when I'm at a convention and I'm not in costume I feel naked. I was even honored to have my picture included in a cosplay book! (Cosplay in America)
As with many anime fans, I'm a big gamer when I have spare time. I like open world games like the Elder Scrolls and MMOs (I was an avid WoW player and currently play Guild Wars 2.) I also LOVE fighting games (even though I'm not the best) especially the Guilty Gear series.
If you couldnt tell already. I love anime and I love games, so MaiOtaku seems like an awesome place for me!
